English have been dominated by the German for long months. Despite a few successes and the landing of a growing number of soldiers, stuck on the Birman front line, and of American means, Rommel remains the master. Only desert commandos can provide the allies a mean to bother Germans and Italians. The longer communication lines grow, the weaker to prompt actions they become. The Commandos, S.A.S. (Special Air service) and an other action group strike were the enemy's not waiting for them Un taxi pour Tobrouk). It's not sufficient to stop the Axis's walk. Rommel is already dreaming of the storming of Alexandria in Egypt and the Suez Canal.
In a last effort, Germans are stopped during El Alamein war, in july 1942. Material losses are far to important, Rommel can resume the fight. He asks Hitler to allow him reinforcement, but the war effort is concentrated on the Russian front line.

However, the allies are preparing to counter-attack.
On one side, the VIIIth Egyptian army is re-equipped with modern American disguised tanks, Shermans, and also in artillery. On the other side, near England, USA and Gibraltar, a huge number of forces is gathering to prepare a landing in the French north African region. Germans are crushed under the bombs, overflown by the infantry and 1 000 “Monty”'s tanks. There isn't anything left to do but escape. It's nonetheless a ruin and the fights remains very hard but the outcome makes no mystery if reinforcement still misses. Americans organize a landing in Algeria on November, 9th 1942, under Vichy's control. American diplomats and military men try to gather a Truce Army. Fights will be short, often to save the honour, and soon the Allied Army is at the Tunisian frontier. Tunisia, last Axis stronghold in Africa. Despite some weak reinforcements and hard fights, Tunisia become under American, British and French control between April and May 1943.
